Gel, Vinylux, Vegan or Classic Manicure — What’s the Difference?
Our nail menu at Élan Spa and Hair in Northbrook has several manicures, and clients often ask which one to choose. The main differences are how long the polish lasts and how it comes off.
Classic Manicure
Shaping, cuticle care, hand massage and regular polish. Perfect if you like to change colors often. Regular polish typically lasts several days to a week.
Vinylux Manicure
A long-wear polish that dries quickly and does not need a UV lamp. It lasts longer than regular polish and removes with normal polish remover.
No-Chip Gel Manicure
Gel polish cured under a lamp. It is dry the moment you leave, stays glossy and chip-free for up to about two weeks, and is the best choice for a vacation or a busy week. When you are ready, book a No-Chip Off so it is removed gently without damaging your nails.
Vegan Manicure
Made with vegan, cruelty-free products for clients who prefer them.
Treat your hands a little more
- Paraffin treatment — warm wax for soft, hydrated hands; wonderful in the cold months.
- Reflexology for hands or feet — a relaxing pressure-point massage.
- Nail repair and polish change between visits.
